Waterproof Jackets

Membrane Technology: Most waterproof jackets utilize a membrane technology, such as Gore-Tex, eVent, or similar proprietary materials. These membranes are microporous and allow water vapor (sweat) to escape while preventing water droplets from penetrating.
Laminates: These jackets often have a laminated outer fabric combined with a waterproof membrane. This outer fabric is usually durable and abrasion-resistant.
Coatings: Some jackets use a waterproof coating applied to the outer fabric. These coatings are often less breathable than membrane-based jackets but can be more affordable.
